Delivery Info

Standard Shipping is £2.50, or FREE when you spend over £30. This is Royal Mail 48 or similar. It is usually much faster, but please allow 10 days for this to arrive.

Royal Mail 48 Tracked costs £3.50. We prioritise dispatch for this service and it usually delivers in 2-3 working days; but please allow 7 days for your parcel to arrive.

Royal Mail 24 Tracked costs £4.50 We prioritise dispatch for this service and it usually delivers in 1-2 working days, even on Sundays; but please allow 5 days for your parcel to arrive.

Royal Mail Special Delivery has cost based on weight of your parcel. Generally this is guaranteed overnight by 1pm and also on Sundays (but not necessarily by 1pm). Mostly the guarantee applies to mainland UK, but there are exceptions such as very remote areas, and most of non-mainland will get deliveries next day except at weekends.

Parcels over £200 are “signed-for” too. For very heavy orders, we may use a different courier which is likely to have an earlier than usual cutoff time for same-day dispatch, of 11am.

We always want you to get your orders promptly, and even though Royal Mail is the best service we can find, they have their ‘moments’: Typically in the rush after bank holidays when they have extra volume and fewer staff.

We don’t send out replacement parcels unless there is evidence it is lost or damaged for reasons beyond your control.

I bet you thought we were going to say no! But we DO offer a delivery guarantee… If you are worried about your parcel being delayed in the post, you can order another to be sent to you. You can then return the second one when it arrives. If it did not arrive within the following time frames: 10 days for standard, 5 days for Tracked 48, and 3 days for Tracked 24), then as well as refunding for the products returned, we will be happy to refund your postage on both parcels!

For countries we ship to, international shipping varies by parcel weight. We have had a lot of issues with European customs, so we mostly only ship by DHL, which is expensive, but is better at getting things delivered than any other service we have tried.

Please understand shipping to your country is at your risk. You will typically have to pay tax and a processing fee in your country to receive it. We cannot predict how your country is going to treat each parcel. If your parcel is returned to us, we will refund the cost of your items, NOT the full amount you may have paid for us to ship internationally.

Countries vary greatly in how they deal with incoming parcels. On our side, we remove 20% UK VAT at checkout if you are shipping to an international address. This makes our products look cheaper, but on importing them you are likely to have to pay the relevant VAT for your country, as well as a customs processing fee.

Some countries have lower thresholds below which they do not assess for taxes, and upper thresholds where they treat the parcel as commercial, and may levy higher taxes, or require more paperwork. So we may place basket limits to certain countries to protect you from getting caught in such a situation.

If you might not be in when the parcel is delivered, then please feel free to put a delivery note asking for it to be delivered to a safe place – and some people even ask for parcels to be left on their doorstep. We will try to mark what you ask on the label, but in some cases, we may not be able to, for example as higher value parcels may need a signature. Also, we can’t guarantee what your postman will do. And finally, we can’t take responsibility for what happens to it. All parcels have delivery confirmations whether you sign for them or not. And if Royal Mail tell us a parcel was delivered, you asked for it to be left on your doorstep and mysteriously it isn’t there when you get home… sorry but that is your responsibility.

Yes. All our parcel deliveries are delivery confirmed, and higher value orders are fully tracked.

The cutoff for same-day dispatch on weekdays is usually 4pm, but if we’re busy, it could be earlier. 3:45pm is pretty safe. We also usually dispatch on Saturdays, and the cutoff is usually around noon. Obviously, for bank holidays, we will dispatch the next business day.

If you buy only products that don’t have VAT, then we won’t charge VAT on your shipping either! That mostly applies to food and books.

It is incredibly rare that parcels go missing completely. When the parcel is showing in tracking as having been delivered, the answer is usually that someone else in the household took it in, it was delivered to a neighbour, or left in an outhouse. So please ask around, and check where they could have put it. Most appear within 24 hours. We once had a lovely lady who confessed she had already put her order in the fridge and forgot about it!

But do check that your order confirmation has the correct address!

There is a special code in your order confirmation email that lets you make another order with free postage if you put it in before the first one is dispatched.

If we are able to, often we will combine orders to the same address into the same parcel, to save postage and packing. We will not issue a refund by default because it is quite a faff to do, and we have already given you the opportunity to use the free shipping code. But if you ask for a refund, we will of course provide it.

If our carrier has attempted delivery but you were not in, they will typically leave a card telling you how to collect or rearrange delivery. If you don’t receive your parcel, you must check the tracking link in case they have forgotten to leave the card or it got lost.

If you don’t arrange redelivery within a reasonable time, they will generally return the parcel back to us. When we get it back, we will usually offer to send it again (if in the UK), or refund you, less any shipping charge.
