Seagreens The Mineral Salt
Seagreens® The Mineral Salt is a unique combination of Seagreens’ Organic wrack seaweed from its sustainable harvesting among the Scottish Outer Hebrides, and unrefined Certified Cornish Sea Salt.
Salt is about 60% chloride and 40% sodium. Depending on the source, there is at most a few percent variation, with unprocessed sea salt, or ‘rock’ salt mined from land which was once a sea bed, containing tiny amounts of some 60 trace minerals.
Wild ‘Wrack’ seaweeds which are prolific around the Atlantic shores of the British Isles and Nordic region contain all the minerals and trace elements, balancing the intake of salt (sodium chloride) to such an extent that research has shown a 50% salt, 50% Wrack seaweed blend to not cause damage to the heart.
Mixing salt and seaweed ‘half and half’ retains the salty taste but adds complexity to flavour and broad nutritional value, providing nutrients with significant benefits to health.
Use instead of salt for seasoning, this 50/50 mix from the top and bottom of the British Isles has a nutritional profile even the best salt in the world can only dream of!
The product won some top awards when it was launched: Best New Product, Best Organic Product, and it was Highly Commended at the Free From Food Awards.
All Seagreens’ seaweed is accredited to Nutritious Food Seaweed standard, certified by the BDA (Biodynamic Association). They select, monitor, harvest and process currently 5 live wild seaweed species as raw food and have won awards for their products, research and environmental sustainability.
Nothing is added or extracted. Non-allergenic and free from harmful contaminants. Also certified BRC (British Retail Consortium), Organic, and Kosher, and Halal and Vegan compliant.
